ReverbNation Launches Digital Distribution Service 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Music marketing and promotional platform provider ReverbNation announced the launch of their digital distribution service today. Here are some details:

It is _base_d on a flat-fee model ($34.95/album with an annual renewal fee) that is non-exclusive and pays the Artists 100% of the royalties we collect from the retailers on their behalf. The feature is designed to be priced competitively, but the real differentiator is the way we will be tying it into the marketing and promotion solutions we already offer. Our 250,000 Artists already use our email, widgets, IM tools, and social network applications to reach ~30,000,000 uniques/month. Adding the digital distribution feature will allow artists to tie purchase offers to all of those fan touch-points, and to track behaviors against the marketing and promotion tactics that they are employing.

It will be interesting to see how they compare with TuneCore. I think ReverbNation has a larger built in user _base_ and the less places musicians have to go to get stuff done the better.

Kudos to Lou and the team @ Reverb to making this happen.
